Town have announced that season tickets for the 2024/25 season have sold out through existing renewals, meaning no new fans will become season ticket holders for the campaign ahead.

More than 20,000 season tickets have been renewed from this season’s total in excess of 21,000 - a total higher than the cap originally set by the club last summer - and so no season tickets will go on general sale.

There will, however, be more matchday tickets available and the club will be introducing a season ticket waiting list ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Town announced their season ticket prices a month ago with the same figure, a rise of around eight per cent, set whether the Blues are in the Championship or Premier League next season.

“The support this season has been incredible once again, which is something everyone at the club hugely appreciates,” CEO Mark Ashton told the club site.

“Season ticket holders are incredibly important and for such a high number to have renewed for the new campaign is another example highlighting the loyal support the club is fortunate to have.”

Portman Road’s capacity is in excess of 29,000, varying from game to game, with long term plans to increase the number of seats by rebuilding the 53-year-old Cobbold Stand.

It's just brilliant being a Town supporter at the moment,the club is run so well,from the top down and the quality of football is outstanding. We've waited a long time for the good times to return and long may it continue.

Go into the game by game pot (or has the club employee point been addressed) Why not renew? Deaths, relocations, banned or...? Can't be fallen out of love with football, can it?

This needs to be stopped, surely the club can see the trend for this abusive of the season tickets

Why should they make way for more recent converts? Apart form the run in, and eg Norwich, tickets for most games could easily be bought for individual games, and the new reselling system will help this - although of course demand will further increase in Premier League.

For those of us who have been sat here for quarter of a century and witnessed such low points as the Hull home game in 2018, why on earth should I be expected to have to give up my seat for someone who's just suddenly decided they want to jump on the bandwagon of a winning team!? Nonsense. Priority is set for a reason to ensure the hardcore of fans who have stuck with the team through some very sad days. The club still keeps 6-7000 back for individual game sales which they could easily sell as STs too - what more do you want? Sadly much as it's amazing times, glory hunting nonsense will only become worse if we get up. If we do I am particularly not looking forward to all the armchair Liverpool and Man United 'fans' who barely knew we existed five years ago, suddenly telling me all about our 'best players' and tactical floors based on some nonsense spouted by the showbiz pundits on MOTD. This crap nonsense happened last time we were up in 2000, and imagine will be several degrees worse this time given how football's reach has expanded in the last 25 years to so many hangers on.

Karlosfandangal added 13:45 - Apr 26 Love the success the club has but for me I don’t get to see many games…..In the past It was no point in a season ticket as evenings and Saturdays but now I have retired I could get one….just my luck. I have been to many games in the McCarthy era with only 15k there…do hope the new found fans stick with the club if things start to go wrong like in the early 2000s

VanDusen added 13:50 - Apr 26 @kickingblock. How did you guess? ;o) Tho in fairness I was a grumpy young man moaning about the unfairness of the Premier League as far back as the late 90s - though 2000/1 and the resulting European Tour did have to shut me up cos we were amazing. Fantastic times.

exeterblue10 added 13:51 - Apr 26 Hopefully the trial ST seat resale will become a permanent thing so that if ST holders can't make a game, they can sell their seat for that particular game. It would help to fill any otherwise potentially empty seats. I think Brentford brought in a system where if a ST holder failed to fill their seat for four games (ie if they'd fail to sell it through their resale system) they'd lose their ST - they obviously had a problem with people buying STs just to use them for the games against Man City, Arsenal etc.

Help added 14:57 - Apr 26 cotton eye. If someone is willing and able to pay the cost of a season ticket and only use it occasionally or upgrade as required why can't they. Maybe the employee has a reason for not using the ticket Chris Felix. Maybe not all of the 21k sold last year have been renewed if some people feel they cannot afford it. Maybe what we should do is sell season tickets to the highest bidders only Generating more income for the club and ffp. The system is and works currently. If the club wants to change things that is up to them.

Roggydem added 18:46 - Apr 26 Forgive me if i don't feel bad for the people now jumping on the bandwagon who can't get season tickets. Had to invest and watch season after season of rubbish in order to get the chance to watch these last 2 great seasons. I suspect that's the case for alot of people.
