Monday, 18th Feb 2019 15:06

Town’s U23s were beaten 1-0 by Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon with David Bremang netting the only goal after 34 minutes.

Despite the defeat, Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg’s side remain top of the Professional Development League Two South table, although Crystal Palace could cut the gap to one point if they win at table-propping Colchester this evening, but with the Blues having a game in hand. The Sky Blues are third.

Former assistant manager Chris Doig was amongt those watching the game.

U23s: Wright, Spence, Webber, McGavin, Cotter, Ndaba (c), McKendry, Nydam, K Brown, Dawkins, El Mizouni. Subs: Egan, Marshall, Clements, Z Brown, Foudil.

They beat Hull 8-0 earlier this season. On the evidence of this afternoon Spence & Dawkins won't be back any time soon. Was impressed with Harry Wright though. Definitely a chip off the old block.

U23s quite possibly missing Shane McLoughlin too. Since he left the last couple of U23 results have gone against us.

Watched the home game at Portman road we won 3-1 I think but they was pretty decent and had some quality players so not the end of the world.
