Ipswich Town fans roared at the final whistle against Coventry City as they took one step closer back to Premier League.

They beat Coventry 2-1 on Tuesday night to ensure they need to win just one point on the final day of the season to secure promotion from the Championship.

Doing so against Huddersfield Town would seal their return to the top-flight for the first time since 2002.

And footage at the end of their latest victory shows how confident Ipswich fans are of seeing their dream come to life.

In a video posted from a supporter in the Coventry end, travelling fans celebrated wildly at the full-time whistle.

The noise from the away end was one you'd expect to hear after winning a title, with fans seen hugging each other in jubilant scenes.

Ipswich are on the verge of sealing back-to-back promotions under Kieran McKenna, who has been an excellent appointment since his arrival in 2021.

And fans who attended the match called talkSPORT to reflect on an amazing night on their quest for the Premier League.

"Magical," said Dan to Jason Cundy and Jamie O'Hara on The Sports Bar. "Nearly there, it's been amazing.

"I spoke to you guys after the Leicester game when we got that last minute equaliser and you guys were sort of writing us off a little bit.

"But it's been like up and down in January, some new signings and just gone again, and it's one point away from promotion, absolutely ridiculous."

Shaun called in to the show on the way back from Coventry and was setting his sights on next season in the Premier League.

Gabby Agbonlahor claims he'd rather have Ipswich promoted to the Premier League than Leeds

He is clearly confident and made predictions at the expense of Tottenham and Chelsea fans O'Hara and Cundy.

"Spurs next season, six points, Chelsea, oh. We're one foot there aren't we? I can't wait for Saturday, we've had 22 years of rubbish really, but [this is] brilliant."

Shaun then broke into song, singing: "We are Premier League, say we are Premier League! We are Premier League, say we are Premier League."

A draw against Huddersfield on Saturday will see Ipswich join Leicester in the Premier League next season after the Foxes won the Championship title on Monday night.

However, lose and the Tractor Boys will open the door for Leeds to overtake them with a win at home to Southampton.
